Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds the title of Distinguished Chair in Psychology of the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for starting the modern science-based study of children's eyewitness memory as well as child victims' witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous prizes and grants. She has advised numerous federal bodies and administrations all over the world on policy as well as research related to the treatment of child victims within the legal system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman also belongs to the Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been director of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Psychological Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
