Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at University of California Davis. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of child witnesses and eyewitness memories in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer who has received numerous prizes and grants. She has worked with many government agencies and institutions across the world on studies and policy issues pertaining to children who have been victims of the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of numerous professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman belongs to the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member, International Society for the prevention of child abuse and Neglect as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
