Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman, Distinguished Professor of psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research is at University of California Davis. She is credited for starting the modern study of children's memory and eyewitness testimony, as well as the application of child witnesses when in court. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded multiple grants, and been awarded numerous award both international and national. She has advised numerous government bodies and administrations across the globe on policies and studies pertaining to the treatment of child victims by the justice system. She acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of numerous professional groups, such as that of Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology for Women and Traumatic Stress). She also is a founding part of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as the director of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
