Ariel Gail
Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for pioneering the study of child witnesses as well as eyewitness memories within legal contexts. Professor Goodman is a prolific author and has been awarded numerous prizes and grants. She has advised a variety of government organizations and government agencies all over the world on policy and research relating to the care of children who are victims through the justice system. She is consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of several professional associations, for example, those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Praxis and Policy American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Additionally, she is a founding part of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been head of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
