Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely credited with initiating the contemporary investigation of the scientific study of children's eyeswitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman published widely and has won many grants and has received numerous national and international awards. She has worked with numerous government agencies and governments across the world regarding policy guidelines and research concerning child victims within the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of the Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She served as president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division as well as Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
